How it works
Three steps to playing what the room wants

Create an event
Give your party a name and a date. You instantly get your own link and QR code, for example djmark.playthis.eu.

Show the QR code
On a screen, the projector or a card on the table. Guests scan it and land straight on your request page. No app, no account.

Guests request and vote
When a song is requested again, it counts as a vote. You see live what's been requested, ranked by votes, and mark what you've played.

- Live list of requests, ranked by votes, showing who wanted to hear each song.
- Played or rejected with a single tap. A rejected song can't be requested again.
- Requests open or closed, plus a free-text message to the room — "only danceable tracks after 11pm", for example.
- History and CSV export of everything you played at each party.
- Works alongside any DJ software: on your laptop, tablet or phone at the booth.

For your client
One link for the couple or the organiser
Send your client a single link in advance. With it they print the QR codes themselves, put the code on the TV and share the guest link in the invitation. Nothing left for you to arrange.
- A4 poster and table cards to print or save as PDF. Also tent cards that stand up on the table, and beer coasters for the tables and the bar.
- QR screen for a TV or projector: a big QR code with the live top 5, independent of your laptop.
- Share via WhatsApp with one tap, or use the QR code as an image in the invitation.
- Every party stays private: only people with the code can make requests. Guests can't see your other parties.
For the guests
Request and vote from any phone
Guests scan the QR code, look up their song and request it. Already on the list? Then they add their vote. The most popular song automatically rises to the top on the DJ's screen.
- No app, no account: scan and done — it works in the browser of any phone.
- Search via Spotify, with title, artist and album art. Can't find it? Typing it in works too.
- Vote with one tap on other people's requests, so the list shows what the room really wants to hear.
- Fair for everyone: up to three new songs per phone every fifteen minutes; voting is always possible. Guests can withdraw their own request themselves.
- Always up to date: guests see live what's been requested and what was just played, so nobody asks for the same song twice.
- Name is optional and only visible to the DJ.
Taking photos in the app
Snap, count down, and it's on the screen
Guests don't have to open their camera first and then hunt for the photo. They tap Share a photo, take the picture right inside PLAYTHIS and send it with one tap. Once you approve it, it's up on the projector.
- Camera in the app: works in the browser of any phone, nothing to install.
- Front and rear camera: a selfie with the happy couple or a shot of the dance floor.
- 3-second self-timer, so the whole group of friends fits in the picture.
- Retake or choose from your photos: sharing an existing photo works too.
- Light and safe: photos are resized and sent without location data.
Module · Messages & shout-outs
Guests send you a message, you decide what goes on the screen
No more shouting at the booth. Guests send a question, congratulations or a shout-out from their phone, and you see everything arrive neatly on your DJ screen.
- Messages to the DJ: "Could you congratulate Kees?" arrives instantly, with a counter so you never miss one.
- Reply personally: only that guest sees your reply, on their own phone.
- Shout-outs on the screen: with one tap you put a shout-out on the projector or TV for three minutes, as a bar below the QR code and the top 5.
- You moderate: nothing goes on the screen without your OK, and you hide messages with one tap.
- No spam: guests can send up to five messages every fifteen minutes.

DJ booth requests: a request screen right next to your booth
Put an iPad or tablet at your booth. Guests who walk up to you anyway can look up their song there and request it. You keep mixing; they instantly see what's already been requested.
- Linked in a single scan: tap QR for iPad on your DJ screen and scan the code with the tablet.
- Big and simple: just search, request and +1. After a few seconds the screen is ready for the next guest.
- Fair voting: unlimited requests, and up to 15 votes per song every fifteen minutes.
- You stay in control: switch the booth screen on or off with one toggle.
Day and night New
Your DJ screen in standard, dark or light
Playing in a pitch-dark venue or on a sunny terrace? Pick the view that fits with one tap, top right on your DJ screen.
- Dark: as little light as possible. Your screen won't light up your face and the room won't see a bright panel behind the booth.
- Light: bright and easy to read, for outdoors and daytime, even in the sun.
- Standard: the familiar view for most parties.
- Remembered per device: your laptop can be on dark and your phone on light.
After the party New
Every request as a playlist for your client
The couple wants to relive the night. Send them one link: it lists every song you played, in order, with cover art. One click turns it into a playlist in their own music app.
- In the order of the night, with the time and how many votes each song got. Guest names are not included.
- Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music: a button next to every song to open it straight away.
- A playlist in one go: copy the list and paste it into TuneMyMusic or Soundiiz, also for Deezer and Tidal. Or download a CSV.
- Guests see it too: afterwards the link appears on their phone under "This party has ended".
For residencies New
Same club every week? Schedule every night in one go
Weekly, fortnightly or every first Friday of the month: choose the repeat, the times and the period, and every night is in your calendar. Requests open and close by themselves. All you have to do is play.
- One permanent QR code: put the posters up once. Guests always land on tonight's event, and every night starts with a clean list.
- Or a separate QR code per night, when it's a different venue or client each time.
- Opens and closes automatically at the times you choose. Before the start, guests see when it opens.
- Calendar: tap a day to add a night, change the times or cancel it.
- Settings carry over to the next night, and every night has its own playlist and stats.
Connect photo booth New
Got a photo booth? Put the booth photos on your photo wall
Working with LumaBooth? Connect the booth's fotoShare gallery to your event. Every new booth photo appears automatically among the guests' photos, on the big screen.
- Paste one link: the booth's fotoShare link, in your DJ screen under Photos.
- Arrives by itself: during the party, new booth photos join the photos within about half a minute.
- You stay in control: approve them, or put them straight on the screen with auto-approve.
- Photo strips or single photos: your choice. Videos and GIFs are skipped.

Built-in test pattern for projector and TV
Is part of the picture cut off? Then the room misses the edge of your QR code or the shout-out. Open the test pattern on the screen and you'll see it straight away.
- Edges and corners: if you can see all four corners, the overscan is set correctly.
- Safe area at 90% and 95%, so text never falls off the screen.
- Sharpness, colour and greyscale to tune the projector in seconds.
- Resolution and aspect ratio shown right there.

No song requests needed, but you'd like a photo wall? With the Photo Pass (€9.99 per party) you create a photo event: guests scan the QR code, take a photo and it appears on the big screen. The photo screen runs a slideshow with a fixed QR code in the corner, and you print the QR on posters, table cards or beer coasters. Fully digital, no photographer or printer needed.

All prices exclude VAT. Pro and the Event Pass: every module at no extra cost. Basic: a module costs €9.99 per month or €99 per year. The Request Pass gives you the same as Basic for one party (without separate modules). Passes are valid for 48 hours from activation.

Good to know
Do guests need to install an app?
No. Guests scan the QR code or open your link and land straight on your request page in their browser. They don't need to create an account either.
Does it work with my DJ software?
PLAYTHIS runs separately from your software, so it works with everything: rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, VirtualDJ or anything else. Just open the DJ screen on a laptop, tablet or phone next to your set-up.
What are modules?
Modules are add-ons to the song requests: photos on the screen and DJ reviews. Messages and shout-outs are already included in Basic. You switch modules on or off per event on your DJ screen. During the beta everything is free. After that, all modules are included in Pro and the Event Pass; with Basic a module costs €9.99 per month (or €99 per year). Modules aren't available on Free. Your own branding is included in Basic, Pro and every pass. All prices exclude VAT.
What is the Photo Pass?
With the Photo Pass (€9.99 excl. VAT, 48 hours) you create a photo event without song requests. Guests scan the QR code, take a photo and, once you approve it, it appears on the photo screen. The QR code stays in the corner there, so new guests can join in right away. You print the QR on posters, table cards or beer coasters. When creating an event, choose "Photos only".
Can my client print the QR codes themselves?
Yes. Every party comes with a print page you can share with one tap, for example via WhatsApp. There your client prints an A4 poster, table or tent cards, saves everything as a PDF, or opens the QR screen on a TV or projector.
What if everyone requests the same song?
Then the requests are merged: every request counts as a vote, and the song moves up the list. Variants such as "(Radio Edit)" are recognised as the same song too.
Can I hold back requests?
Yes. You can reject songs (they can't be requested again), close requests temporarily and post a message for the guests. A song that's just been played can't be requested again for an hour.
What happens to guests' data?
Guests are anonymous. They can optionally enter their first name: with requests and messages only you see it; with photos, shout-outs and reviews it's shown alongside. We don't build guest profiles and we don't sell data.
How much does it cost?
Nothing during the beta, until 31 December 2026. After that you can choose between Free (€0), Basic (€9.99 per month), Pro (€39.99 per month) or a pass per party: Request Pass or Photo Pass €9.99, all-in Event Pass €17.99. All prices exclude VAT. You'll be notified well in advance before anything changes.
